ARTIST'S PROFILE ~ ANNABEL HOSKINS
Tamworth painter, Annabel Hoskins, is a figurative artist. Her first love is portraiture and she is happy to take commissions to paint either people or animals. Figures often find their way into her landscapes as well.
People who featured in her portraits have included Ron McLean (ex editor of the Namoi Independent newspaper); Owen Hasler (retired teacher and union co-ordinator); Gae Swain (past Mayor of Gunnedah); and Geoff Mack (songwriter who wrote “I’ve Been Everywhere).
Annabel’s landscape works reflect her love of nature. They are often inspired by the various trips she has done throughout Australia and can vary from seascapes to views of Australia’s dramatic interior.
She usually paints in acrylic on canvas, but also enjoys pastel painting. Coloured pencils, charcoal, chalk and ink are other mediums occasionally used.
